A big century from opener Ronald Tari, and another starring performance from Nalin Nipiko helped Vanuatu to crush Samoa by 179 runs in yesterday's ICC EAP Under 19 Trophy match.
Tari was largely untroubled on his way to 102 off 166 balls, spending all but five balls of his team's 50 overs at the crease as Vanuatu put themselves in a commanding position to secure qualification into the final against Papua New Guinea.
After the massive win, Vanuatu Coach Chris Moran said now that his team had almost secured their place in the final, they would be looking to prepare as best as possible.
For Samoa, there were some definite improvements - they made their highest team total for the tournament and bowled far more accurately - but the result was still disappointing for Coach Geoff Clarke.
