American Samoa and Taiwan are looking at strengthening their relationship.

Earlier this week the governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga, met the director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, V.C. Chu, in Honolulu.

Mr Chu is responsible for enhancing Taiwan's bilateral economic, cultural, education and tourism ties with both Hawaii and American Samoa.

Lolo's office says several issues were discussed, including Taiwan sending a medical mission to American Samoa, incentivising companies to relocate to the territory and the provision of tele medicine diagnostic assistance.
