A golden day in Kafika has extended Papua New Guinea's lead atop the medals table after two days of the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.
PNG won eight gold medals in weightlifting and athletics to bring their haul to 14 gold and 38 in total.
Vinnie Wylie reports from Wallis.
"Running was the order of the day with Papua New Guinea winning the women's 100m, 400m and 800m titles, as well as the men's 3000m steeplechase. In the weightlifting hall PNG picked up another four gold medals to move six clear of second placed Tahiti, who produced a familiar story on the water, taking out all four events in Va'a. New Caledonia are in third place with seven gold medals after another successful day on the track. Tonga, Kiribati and Nauru all won their first gold medals of the Mini Games in the decathlon and weightlifting, while Palau and Norfolk Island also won their first medals of the Games."
