American Samoa lowers flags to honour 9/11 victims

1:21 pm on 12 September 2013

All flags in American Samoa are today being flown at half staff to honour and remember the victims of the terrorists attack 12 years ago in the United States.

The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in a Pennsylvania field.

In ordering the flags to be flown at half staff, the American Samoa governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga called on residents to participate in community services, including a moment of silence for the victims.
