The governor of Papua New Guinea's Morobe Province, Kelly Naru, says the province has 60 million US dollars in development funds, which if used wisely, could change the face of the province.
Mr Naru was making an independence day address in Lae on Monday.
The money is included in the Provincial Services Improvement Program, the grants to the province's MPs and the allocation to the 33 Local Level Governments, which get 200 thousand US dollars each.
Mr Naru said Morobe is very fortunate to have this huge development budget and all the politicians must see that the money is used to maintain and improve the infrastructure.
He has called on all MPs to work with him to develop their districts and the province as a whole
Mr Naru says there is no time to waste.
