Two young spectators at a volleyball game at Leone High school in American Samoa were injured by a rock which was thrown into the gym during the game.

Both of the injured students are from Nuuuli Vo Tech, who were playing Leone in the match.

The mother of one of the injured students says the rock hit her son's friend first then richoted on her son's forehead.

Her son's friend was taken to the hospital for x-rays as the rock hit him with force.

The mother says there should a united stand to eliminate violence at all sports events and feels Parent Teacher Associations should step in and secure the sports venues if police are not available, and that parents, pulenuu or village mayors, faipule and matais should work together.
