The governors of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas and Guam have committed to work together following the Marianas Summit last week in Saipan.
Eloy Inos and Eddie Calvo say they will brainstorm over issues regarding military realignment, economic development, economic exchange, and healthcare currently facing the archipelago.
While the so-called One Guam approach has streamlined negotiations with the military in Guam, the CNMI deals separately with Navy, Marines, and the Air Force.
Mr Inos has acknowledged the One Guam approach is something the CNMI should strive for.
The governors also had discussions about Obamacare, which both leaders say would bankrupt the islands without adequate funding from the US Department of Health and Social Services.
