Samoa sets public consultation dates on sex offenders register

The Samoa government is to start public consultations next month on the setting up of a sex offenders register.

The Samoa Observer reports this comes amid continuing concerns about child rape, human trafficking and sex tourism in Samoa.

The paper says officials from the Samoa Law Reform Commission have now set October dates for consultations on whether or not there should be a register and whether it would help in reducing re-offending.
