The governor of the Northern Marianas, Eloy Inos, and his running mate Senate President Ralph Torres have officially announced their plan to run for governor and lieutenant governor in next year's elections.
The two will run under the Republican Party of the NMI Association following Mr Inos' return to the local GOP chapter and the dissolution of the Covenant Party.
The governor also marked his 64th birthday with him wishing to prevail in 2014.
Mr Inos says his and Mr Torres' priorities include addressing the problems at the NMI Retirement Fund, utilities and the hospital.
Mr Inos became governor in February when Benigno Fitial resigned as governor days before the start of his impeachment trial in the Senate.
