Tourism figures released in French Polynesia for July show a drop in the number of booked hotel nights by five percent over the same month last year.
The decline follows a fall in the number of visitors from Europe and Japan.
The figures also show that over the past year, there have been 12 percent fewer rooms, which has led to a boost in the occupancy rate to above 70 percent.
