Sport: Fiji and Samoa picked up three wins each at Oceania Sevens

Fiji and Samoa picked up three wins each to top their groups after day one of the Oceania Sevens Championship in Suva.

Under the stewardship of new head coach Ben Ryan, Fiji racked up 133 points without reply in big wins over Tuvalu, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea.

Samoa also notched impressive wins against the Solomon Islands and American Samoa before their line was finally breached in a 26-12 victory over Australia.

Fiji will face the Solomon Islands in the first quarter final later this morning, the Cook Islands will take on American Samoa, PNG are up against Australia with Samoa to play Tuvalu.

The top finishing team outside of Fiji, Samoa and Australia will also earn a berth at the Hong Kong Sevens and next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
