Police in American Samoa have identified a total of 18 suspects in two recent stone-throwing incidents, which resulted in student injuries and substantial damages to a school bus.

The incidents led to a three-week suspension of all high school sports in the Territory.

The Director of Education banned sports after a bus carrying a high school sports team was belted with stones following a volleyball game at Fagaitua High School.

All sporting events will now be held during daylight hours.

The Commissioner of Public Safety William Haleck says they have wrapped up their investigation and have forwarded their report to the Office of the Attorney General.

He says the suspects' actions are unfortunate and they will now have to face justice as lives have been affected and properties have been damaged.
