Vanuatu's prime minister Moana Carcasses has gone on Radio Vanuatu to deny a Daily Post newspaper front page story that he was seen buying two bottles of wine on Sunday, despite a ban on Sunday alcohol sales.
The paper reported that one of its reporters was present when the prime minister arrived at a shop with his security officer who demanded the shopkeeper sell him the wine intended for Mr Carcasses.
The prime minister has since announced on Radio Vanuatu that the wine was a prize he won in a raffle and he was simply picking it up.
