In American Samoa, a routine customs check of cargo from a container ship yesterday found about a dozen plastic sandwich bags containing marijuana.

According to initial reports from investigators the marijuana bags were hidden in several buckets of laundry detergent.

KHJ News witnessed four white pales of detergent which customs officers had in a room in the customs warehouse on the main dock.

The drug bust led to a man in his mid 30s being taken in for questioning.

Reports say the man is an army reservist and was the consignee of the containers in which the marijuana, weighing more than 6 pounds, were found.

A police detective says they have not finished going through all the containers.
