New Zealand's Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully has today named top diplomat Chris Seed as New Zealand's next High Commissioner to Australia

Mr Seed, currently a Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, has extensive experience in the Pacific and Australia, including a one-year secondment to Australia's Foreign Affairs Department.

He was also High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea in 2001-2003, and was New Zealand's first senior national officer in the International Peace Monitoring Team in Solomon Islands.
