American Samoa's delegate to the U.S. Congress Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin is recovering well at Tripler Army Medical Centre in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Faleomavaega was medevac to Honolulu last week on board a military flight for further treatment after been admitted early last week to LBJ Medical Centre in the territory.

It was determined that LBJ, the only hospital in the territory, did not have the necessary equipment to provide further evaluation of the Congressman.

A spokesman for the Congressman's Office in Pago Pago, Fai'ivae Alex Godinet, in a statement, said the Congressman is recovering at Tripler.

He reiterated that Faleomavaega is not in a life-threatening situation and he is stable, adding when Faleomavaega is ready for visitors, an official statement will be issued.
