Sport: High penalty count frustrates Fiji Bati

Fiji centre Wes Naiqama was pleased with the Bati's first up victory over Ireland but says the team needs to be more disciplined in future matches.

The Bati thrashed the Irish 32-14 with Newcastle Knights flyer Akuila Uate crossing for a hat-trick.

Wes Naiqama added eight points with boot and says while they were happy with how they performed with the ball in hand, their defence will have to be much better against Australia this weekend.

"One of the things that was highlighted I think we got 13 penalties against us, the coach addressed after the game. You can't afford to be doing that, especially against the stronger teams like say an England. One time we had seven sets on our line that we had to defend through penalties and that so that's definitely one area we will have to have a look at."
