Sport: David Lemi resumes Manu Samoa captaincy

9:52 am on 1 November 2013

Veteran wing David Lemi will resume the captaincy of Manu Samoa on their European rugby tour.

The 31 year old missed the Quad Series in South Africa in June, where Paul Williams led the team to a runners-up finish behind the Springboks.

Halfback Kahn Fotualii has been appointed vice captain.

The Manu have just completed a three day training camp in London at the Surrey Sports Complex, ahead of next weekend's first test against Ireland in Dublin.

Prop Benjamin Sa has been brought into the squad as injury cover for Census Johnston, while lock Daniel Leo is continuing treatment and will have a medical assessment early next week.

Following the Irish test Samoa will play further matches against Georgia and the French Barbarians.
