Sport: Malawi netballers eye victory in Fiji

8:24 am on 2 November 2013

Malawi coach Griffin Saenda believes there is still more to come from his team ahead of tonight's opening netball test against the Fiji Pearls in Suva tonight.

The Malawi Queens were well beaten in five internationals against the world's top two ranked teams Australia and New Zealand over the past fortnight.

Tonight they play the first of two tests against Pacific champions Fiji, a side ranked two places below them.

Griffin Saenda says his players have made a lot of improvements over the past 12 months and the next couple of games are a big chance to convert their potential into victory.

"The way we played wasn't the maximum we can do and the way they are going to do it we're going to see but probably with Fiji we're going to play 50/50 so we're looking forward for the first win or the second win in Fiji."

Following the Fiji series, Malawi will head back to New Zealand to take part in the Fast 5 tournament.
