American Samoa's Senate has asked the Governor to investigate and recover payouts made under the previous administration.
The committee, chaired by Senator Galea'i Tu'ufuli, held hearings this year on the payouts to the former governor, lieutinent governor, cabinet members, contract and political employees.
The Senator wrote to Lolo saying based on reports received from the Executive Branch, over 897-thousand US dollars was paid by the government to the elected officials and employees, and in many instances, they were against the law.
He says the committee is directing the executive to recoup the illegal payments.
The Governor's executive assistant Iulogologo Joseph Pereira says the committee report has been referred to the Attorney General's office for action.
