After winning the toss and electing to field, the Barramundi's restricted their opponents to 114 for 5, with Chris and Charles Amini both picking up two wickets.
Geraint Jones then top scored with a measured 38 from 39 balls as PNG reached their tatget with eight balls to spare.
The East Asia Pacific champions will play Ireland in their next warm up game on Wednesday as they continue to build up to the start of the tournament proper on Friday.
