A man who says he was beaten by Fiji military personnel says he's happy with the way police have handled the case so far.

The main suspect has been charged and is due to appear in court next Tuesday.

Keni Finau says last month he was visited by a group of officers who asked him to accompany them to the military camp to discuss a personal issue.

Instead he says the men took him to Colo-i-Suva forest park where he was assaulted.

Mr Finau says he's pleased with the way the police have responded since he lodged his complaint.
