A New Zealand-based construction company Fulton Hogan is the new contractor for road works in Fiji's Northern Division.

The Fiji Roads Authority chief executive, Neil Cook, has told the Fijii Times that Fulton Hogan will take over from Blacktop Construction Limited which went into receivership in September.

He says Fulton Hogan is a much larger contractor and has greater financial backing.

Mr Cook says as part of the new arrangement, Fulton Hogan will honour all of Blacktop's existing contract agreements and offer employment to all existing Blacktop employees.
