Papua New Guinea have slumped to a second straight loss at a Twenty20 cricket World Cup qualifying tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

The Barramundi's posted 140 for 6 batting first against Nepal, with Geraint Jones top scoring with 55 and Mahura Dai adding a quickfire 36 not out down the order.

But their South Asian opponents maintained a steady run chase, with and unbroken stand of 71 runs in 37 balls from Binod Bhandari and Paris Khadka guiding Nepal home with four balls and seven wickets to spare.

PNG have now dropped to fourth in Group B, behind the Netherlands, Nepal and Kenya and next face Scotland on Thursday.
