Market vendors in Fiji's Seaqaqa and Nabouwalu have learnt that the government will improve market facilities in the area.

As part of the 2014 National Budget, the acting Commissioner northern, Alipate Bolalevu, says the 1.6 million US dollars allocated for the two areas would include the upgrading of taxi stands, bus shelters and market facilities.

Fiji Times Online reports that this is part of the focus of the governments development in Nabouwalu and Seaqaqa ensuring that the people who live in these areas get better facilities.

He says they are growing centres so development will definitely happen in the area, especially now that the electrification project from Seaqaqa to Nasarawaqa in Bua will be commissioned this year.

Mr Bolalevu says having electricity in the area will attract developments and the people living along the corridor will also benefit a lot from this project.
