Vanuatu parliament to meet over constitutional changes

6:25 am on 22 November 2013

The Vanuatu parliament is today expected to consider constitutional amendments.

The Daily Post newspaper reports the clerk of parliament, Louis Kalnpel, saying a special sitting is to be held to discuss constitutional changes.

Constitutional amendments require the backing of 35 of the 52 MPs, while at least 48 need to be in the house.

Changes the government has in mind include the legalising of dual citizenship to attract investors.
