American Samoa police have arrested two men in a drug bust involving the passenger ferry Lady Naomi.

A crew member of the boat that operates between Samoa and American Samoa was arrested for bringing marijuana to a cannery employee.

KHJ News reports the police's vice and narcotics unit has been investigating the smuggling of illegal substances on the ferry for some time.

Sources say the cannery employee was under surveillance and was seen picking up the crew member before going to a location in town where they made the drug exchange.

KHJ News says police discovered close to two pounds of marijuana, and it's the second drug bust connected to the Lady Naomi in a month's time, after a Lady Naomi passenger was found with marijuana taped to his body.
