Fiji mixed a win and two losses on day one of the the opening leg of the Women's Sevens World Series in Dubai.
Competing in the Gulf state for the first time, the Fijiana were outclassed 33-7 by World Champions New Zealand in their first game, edged 24-19 by the USA in their second before thrashing Ireland 38-5 to finish third in Pool A.
They will now face Tunisia in the bowl semi finals and can finish as high as ninth.
