An American Samoa family is suing the government and a former doctor at the LBJ Hospital for more than four million US dollars, claiming they are responsible for last year's death of their newborn baby.

Amio and Penina Talauega claim the actions of former obstretician, Gerardo Aguilera, resulted in the death of their newborn, who lived just a week, following a caesarian.

According to the lawsuit, Dr Aguilera misdiagnosed and gave medication to Mrs. Talauega which resulted in her giving birth to her son prematurely.
