Sport: Fiji Rugby sacks Academy boss due to lack of work permit

12:31 pm on 6 December 2013

The Fiji Rugby Union board has sacked National Academy Program's Manager, Franck Boivert, after it was revealed he did not have a proper permit.

Boivert is in Fiji on an investors permit and therefore is not entitled to be employed in Fiji until a work permit is granted.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr Berlin Kafoa says the FRU Board made the decision to terminate Boivert's contract immediately in accordance with immigration laws.

The FRU has also been served a notice for employing Boivert without following the proper immigration procedures.
