Head coach Michael Marum has finalised his 25 man squad for the PNG team's Inaugural season in the Queensland Cup.
The squad was whittled down from an original list of 53 players who attended an off-season selection camp in Bomana.
Marum says he's been happy with the progress and attitude of the players in camp and that staff have laid down a strict code of conduct as to what is expected of everyone.
The PNG Kumuls assistant coach says he's been particularly impressed with some of the players who missed out on the World Cup squad, who've taken it on the chin and led from the front at the selection camp.
The team has an average age of just 23 and Marum says they are the future of the sport in PNG.
He says players who missed out will be monitored and if they prove themselves in the Digicel Cup and display the right attitude they may also get an opportunity throughout the year.
Team PNG's first pre-season match is against the Northern Pride in Cairns on February the 9th, with their first competition against the Redcliffe Dolphins a month later.
