The American Samoa Handball Association, ASHA, has become the first sports group in many years to be accepted into the American Samoa National Olympic Committee, ASNOC, whose vote was carried out early this week.
Handball association president Carl Floor Senior says he is happy that American Samoa will participate in one of the fastest growing games worldwide.
Mr Floor says the sport of Handball is growing rapidly and for American Samoa to take part is awesome.
He says Auburn University just announced this week that will be hosting the USA University National Championships.
Mr Floor says the next step for ASHA is to train coaches and officials.
