Fiji political group wants regime leader to clarify stance

The political grouping, the United Front for a Democratic Fiji, has called on the regime leader, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, to clarify who the single

loud voice dictating the votes to the voters is.

The UFDF's call comes after Commodore Bainimarama gave a New Year's address, in which he said the old days of a single loud voice dictating the votes of many were over permanently.

The group says the only single voice they are aware of who has continued non-stop dictating and threatening the people, directly and through the office of the Land Force Commander over the past seven years, has been Bainimarama himself.

In his speech, he also said negative political and personal attacks and distorting facts are corrosive, adding that the diseased political behaviour of the past must be over and done with.

Elections have been promised for September but the regime is yet to set up the commission to appoint the body to run the poll.
