A former immigration officer in American Samoa has pleaded guilty to creating fake Immigration ID cards.
By his plea of guilty, Polone Savea admitted that while employed by the Office of Immigration between August and September 2011, he created false ID registration cards for foreigners by using old ID cards numbers belonging to people who had left the island.
Another count of forgery and a charge of public servant exceeding to corruption was dismissed under a plea agreement with the government.
