Tuvalu is a step closer to achieving its 2020 Renewable Energy target, following the signing of an agreement with a United Arab Emirates government contracted company, MASDAR.
The UAE Government is giving Tuvalu 3 million US dollars in aid for solar power to help reduce reliance on fossil fuel.
Tuvalu's Energy Minister Vete Sakaio says it is part of a 50 million dollar aid package from the UAE for the region.
