Former Papua New Guinea cricket captain Rarua Dikana has been named as the interim head coach of the Barramundi's, following the resignation of Peter Anderson.

Dikana has been an assistant to Anderson since retiring in 2012 and was a part of the coaching staff at the recent Twenty20 and One-Day World Cup qualifying tournaments.

He has also coached the East-Asia Pacific team for the last two years.

Dikana leaves on Monday with the PNG Garamuts team who are competing in the Under 19 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Following his role with the Garamuts, he will lead the Barramundi's on their two week tour of Sri Lanka at the end of March.
