The International Rugby Board has announced the top four teams in next season's World Sevens Series will qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Six of the 12 teams in both the men's and women's events will be decided at regional qualifying tournaments, with one place up for grabs at global play-off tournament.
Meanwhile host Brazil has been awarded an automatic place in both the men's and women's competitions.
