Another complaint against Samoan MP made to police

A Samoan politician has had formal complaints laid against him with the police, from his overseas business partners.

The Samoa Observer reports Samoan police are investigating the complaints against Associate Minister Muagututagata Peter Ah Him.

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Fauono Talalelei Tapu didn't say what the complaints were, but they came from Muagututagata's former Asian business partners in Grand Ocean Industries Ltd.

In May last year his partners took Muagututagata to court when he refused to release containers that belonged to the company, which were stored at his premises in Taufusi, a mixed business and residential area just inland of Apia.

The court ruled in favour of the partners - Hui Fang of China and Tao-Yu-Chang of Taiwan - and the containers were released to them.

Muagututagata is also under police investigation for an incident last year when police reported he drove away from them after a request to carry out a blood alcohol test.
