The former Northern Marianas attorney general Edward Buckingham has been found guilty of seven charges in the territory's Superior Court.
All the charges pertain to the violation of election laws.
Earlier, four charges relating to Buckingham's alleged role in a secret and controversial deal with an American company to provide power services, were dropped.
