Trials of men charged with manslaughter of NZ policemen starts next month

The six men charged with the manslaughter of a New Zealand policeman will be tried from next month.

Kali Fungavaka died while under police custody in Nuku'alofa in August 2012.

Matangi Tonga reports police inspector Kelepi Hala'ufia and constables Fatai Faletau, Salesi Maile, Tevita Vakalahi and Manu Tu'ivai will be tried together from March the 31st in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

A civilian, Semisi Kalisitiane Manu, will be tried later in April in a separate trial.
