Australia names asylum seeker killed in PNG

The Iranian asylum seeker killed in rioting at the Australian detention centre on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island on Monday has been named as Reza Berati.

Australia's immigration minister, Scott Morrison, confirmed the identity of the 23-year-old late Friday afternoon.

He says his body will be returned to Iran for burial.

His death is being investigated.

There have been no charges or arrests in relation to the killing.
