A tropical cyclone alert has been issued for parts of Fiji.
The Fiji meteorological service says tropical cyclone Lusi, a category 2 system, is about 800 kilometres west of Nadi.
It says the system is moving east-southeast of Fiji at 15 kilometres an hour and intensifying.
The met service says Lusi is expected to reach category 3 in the next 24 hours.
