China is to send 16 doctors to Vanuatu to help its fight against dengue.

China's Ambassador to Vanuatu, Xie Bohua, has told Vanuatu's Deputy Prime Minister, Edward Natapei, that his Government will do its best to help the country eradicate dengue fever.

The ambassador made the promise while signing letters of exchange for China to send eight doctors to work in Vila Central Hospital and another 8 for the Northern District Hospital in Santo.

Two weeks ago the Chinese Red Cross Society donated 300 thousand US dollars to Vanuatu to help combat dengue.
