Kelly Meafua has been called in as a late replacement for Samoa Sevens captain Reupena Levasa for the Japan and Hong Kong legs of the World Series.
Levasa had injury problems during last month's Wellington tournament and SRU Chief Executive Fred Amoa says he has a suspected illness.
The SRU is awaiting a medical report which will indicate how long he's expected to be away from rugby.
Meafua's inclusion brings to eight the number of changes from the team that competed in Wellington early last month.
