Preparations are underway in American Samoa for a large operation next week to control the territory's stray dog population.
Traps will be placed around Fagatogo village to trap strays.
A department of agriculture veterinarian Brenda Smith says while free animal clinics have had a great response, there are many stray dogs that are still roaming the village.
She says dogs will be neutered or put to sleep if they're too unhealthy.
"We have a big group of volunteers coming from Colorado next week which is why we'll be having large clinics there so there's going to be a lot of people working. There'll be three veterinarians including me, so we're going to try and do almost a hundred a day."
