There have been two last-minute bids in the Northern Marianas for an exclusive licence to build a casino on Saipan.
The government says it received applications from Marianas Stars Entertainment Incorporated and Best Sunshine International Limited.
The submission of application documents to the CNMI government comes along with bank proof of wire transfer of one million US dollars each in non-refundable application fee on the deadline date yesterday.
According to the government, the next step is for the deposit of 30 million US dollars in escrow by May the 5th.
The Lottery Commission is to decide on the applications by June 19th.
