PNG gives Solomon Islands money for flood recovery effort

The Government of Papua New Guinea has given Solomon Islands 540 thousand US dollars to help the recovery effort from the Guadalcanal flooding four weeks ago.

The visiting PNG Foreign Minister Rimbink Pato, gave the money to the Minister of Environment Climate Change and Meteorology Bradley Tovosia and Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo in Honiara on Thursday.

The money will go towards the National Disaster Management Office's ongoing recovery and rehabilitation process, particularly relief, resettlement and infrastructure repair.

The money is in addition to 27 thousand US dollars given soon after the floods.
