In a bid to minimise police abuses and restore the public's trust and confidence, the Papua New Guinea Constabulary will soon be publishing the names and contact details of officers throughout the country.

Commissioner Tom Kulunga says the information, which will include details of station and provincial commanders, will soon be published in newspapers.

Mr Kulunga says they hope it will make it easier for the public to lay complaints against members of the police without fear.

The commissioner has also directed an immediate investigation into the alleged bashing by police of three young men in Port Moresby over the weekend.
