An athletes commission has been established in American Samoa.
Attached to the American Samoa National Olympic Committee, the Commission is headed by Meleisha Purcell-Telefoni, and is made up of athletes from 16 sports federations in the territory.
The ASNOC president Victor Langkilde says the commission was created to be the voice of the athletes in regards to programs, training, competition, uniforms, emblem, and other related issues to the athletes.
