The police in Solomon Islands say they have restored order on the eastern side of the capital Honiara where rioting took place at the weekend.
53 have been arrested and police say many arrests were made in the days following the riots with help from the public.
Last night the country's Police Commissioner appealed for the city's residents to stay home as the police tried to avoid a repeat of events on Friday and Saturday.
Our correspondent in Honiara says the city remained tense yesterday with many businesses closed and private security guards standing guard outside.
She says many Chinese-owned businesses closed their doors early yesterday even with police assurances.
